Lair of the Siren

Description

This is a character I created based on the myth of 'Sirens'. Sirens are women in ancient mythology who are basically extremely alluring and beautiful that lived by troubling waters. They lured in men by singing a sweet, beautiful, hypnotizing tune and once they gained the attraction of the man, they would drag them underwater for death. Its a black and white situation with these Sirens. In this piece, I came up with the idea that this siren brought her victims to her 'garden' and turned them into flowers, hence the skulls. Gentle beauty, yet Brutal evilness.

Done with Copic sketch markers.

Wow; this is so beautiful I don't even know why you'd ask for a critique! Either way, I'll try my best, and I hope you'll find my advice useful (though to be honest I think you'd be better advising /me/!). Anyway-

I think the form of your character is incredible! Perfect, even! Everything is in great proportion and your style and technique really shines. It's so wonderful; I love this picture so, so much! The background is incredible; despite being dark it's still vibrant and ominous, combining to form a very beautiful cocktail. The flowers are fantastic and I love the way you've shown them through the veil the character is wearing- it's all very amazing and very beautiful. The clothes are so original and you've shaded them so well I'm lost for words!

If I was to offer ideas of improvement, I'd maybe start by pointing out what she's wearing on her chest. I think that, considering the skin of the breasts is very soft, it would have more of an effect on the skin around it if you know what I mean. Like I imagine it to press in a little more in places and cause the tissue to adjust to fit the shape slightly, rather than meld seamlessly together if you know what I'm trying to say?

However, on the whole, this picture is amazing. Hands, hair, background; all the tricky bits are drawn with so much finesse! I love this and I'll be adding you to my watchlist because your works are incredible.
